MSB were appointed to deliver a comprehensive plantroom upgrade at a Ministry of Justice facility in Bournemouth — a confined, operationally sensitive environment that required careful planning, precise coordination, and a highly efficient installation strategy.

Despite the restricted footprint, our engineering team developed a fully modernised plantroom layout, rationalising the existing services and sequencing the works to minimise disruption to the building’s operations. To support best-value outcomes for the client, we retained and integrated the existing pump sets, allowing for a cost-effective upgrade without compromising system performance or resilience.

The project also included the design and installation of a new Building Management System (BMS) panel. This upgrade ensures improved system control, enhanced energy efficiency, and better long-term monitoring and maintenance capability for the facility.

Working within tight spatial constraints, our engineers maximised the usable area of the plantroom, devised clear service routes, and ensured all new equipment was integrated seamlessly with the retained infrastructure. The result is a safer, more efficient, and future-ready plantroom that significantly improves the site’s mechanical and electrical performance.
